Why You Need .NET Coding Standards (2009)
David McCarter
This session will guide any level of programmer to greater productivity by providing the information needed to write consistent, maintainable code. Learn about project setup, assembly layout, code style, defensive programming and much, much more. We will even go over some real in production code and see what the programmer did wrong in "What's Wrong With this Code?". Code tips are included to help you write better, error free applications. Lots of code examples in C# and VB.NET.

David is a principle software engineer in San Diego. He is also a Microsoft MVP and an INETA Community Excellence Award winner. He is the editor-in-chief of dotNetTips.com... a web site dedicated to helping programmers in all aspects of programming. David published three books, the latest is David McCarter's .NET Coding Standards available at codingstandards.notlong.com and has written for magazines like the Visual Basic Programmers Journal. He is one of the founders and directors of the San Diego .NET Developers Group sddotnetdg.org. David gives talks on programming at conferences such as CodeCamp, VSLive, Microsoft DevDays, colleges, high schools and he teaches regularly at the University of California San Diego. He also runs his own software/consulting company called NicheWare.
